Featuring the original photography of Kim Erickson of Ismay, Montana.
Kim was raised on her family ranch in Ismay, Montana, where she and her husband
make their home today. Her love for photography started as a child at age nine. While a member of 4-H she began
experimenting with her father's 35mm camera.
Over the last 20 years Kim has worked with portrait photographers and in professional
portrait labs in Wyoming and in Miles City, Montana. Her love of Montana and ranch life drew her back to the family
ranch, where she now finds new inspiration in the open spaces, fresh air and rugged Montana badlands. Today when she is
out fencing or feeding cattle she finds herself constantly snapping pictures in her mind, in appreciation of the
beauty of Montana all about her. This is what she wants to share with her viewers.
Her images are crisp and vivid, with spectacular color balance,
very much like witnessing the majesty of eastern Montana in first person. She captures the openness and
freedom of the prairies in her work, and the awesome images of the Montana badlands and big skies are humbling
to experience. The images on these pages do not properly convey the power of her photographs. The viewer is
highly encouraged to visit The Gallery and view Kim's collection for themselves.
