March 2007: Featuring original artwork and photography by Elizabeth Smith      Elizabeth was born in Wolf Point, Montana and lived on the family farm outside Dagmar, Montana before moving to California at a young age. She and her family moved frequently throughout her youth to Illinois, Idaho, western Montana and finally returning to the familiar plains of eastern Montana and Fallon.      She graduated from high school in Terry, Montana and attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, achieving her BA in Fine Art and a minor in French. She has been an artist as long as she can remember and some say they think she may have been born with a pencil in her hand. She has a very diverse background in the arts and has worked in a number mediums, including photography, lithography, weaving, pen and ink, pastels, acrylics and oil.      Elizabeth has participated in many Art Exhibitions, including the "All Student Art Exhibits" for 1999, 2000 and 2001, Prairie County Fair in 1999-2006, and the Zonta Craft Fair in 2004. She also has many awards to her credit, to include the NSU Art Department Fundraising Scholarship for 1999 and 2000, the NSU President's Scholarship in the Arts for years 1998-2001, the Arthur Amoitte Endowment in the Arts (2000), the Betty Barranger Scholarship Award (2000) and the Lamont Scholarship in the Arts (1998). She is an active member of the DCAU Gallery in Glendive and has recently started her own art-related home business called "Just About Everything".
