Featuring the original works of Peggy Ames-Nerud of Circle, Montana.
Peggy was born on a small family ranch in Malta, Montana. She was raised with six
brothers and sisters. She achieved a Bachelors degree in Education in 1970, a Masters degree in Early
Childhood Development in 1986, and a Masters in Elementary Education Administration in 1988.
She has been influenced by the arts most of her life, but moreso by the open plains
and farming history of eastern Montana. Some years ago Peggy attended Dawson Community College to
take welding classes, which launched
her into her new career of developing large scale metal sculptures and mosaics. She particularly enjoys constructing
metal sculptures from "found metal", or old metal farming equipment and implements long forgotten in the junk piles
of old farms and homesteads. She considers this a form of "recycling" old forgotten farm relics, in honor of the
homesteaders who used them to carve out their lives and livelihoods from the open prairies of eastern Montana.
