The "Hooked on Paddlefish" project has been completed
with the live auction event on June 10, 2006 at the Elks
Lodge in Glendive. The event was very well attended and
DCAU Gallery wishes to thank all Sponsors, bidders and
event attendees for a very successful project!
The "Hooked on Paddlefish" project schedule was as follows:
April 1st, 2006
Private preview of (20) completed live-auction 42"
artistically rendered paddlefish mannequins, (10)
silent-auction 10" artistically rendered tabletop
paddlefish models, and other paddlefish related
silent-auction items. Hosted by DCAU.
April 5th, 2006
Paddlefish were on display for the public at
sponsoring businesses around Glendive until
June 8, 2006. Brochures with maps of the "Paddlefish Run"
were vailable at The Gallery, Chamber of Commerce
and various other locations around Glendive.
June 10th, 2006
All paddlefish and silent-auction items for
"Hooked On Paddlefish" were on display at the
Makoshika Park Visitor Center during the annual
"Buzzard Day" festivities. After the Buzzard Day
events concluded, "Hooked on Paddlefish" paintings were
moved to downtown Glendive to the Elks Lodge for the auction
event which began the evening of Saturday, 10 June, 2006.
The "Hooked on Paddlefish" event began at 6:30PM
with a No-Host social. Silent-auction closed at 7:30 PM and
the live auction commenced.
Attendance was "free" to the public and the auction
was very well attended by local Glendive residents and
many visitors.
Proceeds from this event will be used to reduce the
debt on DCAU/ The Gallery's new and permanent home
at 109 N. Merrill, and for remodeling projects at
The Gallery.
Dawson County Arts Unlimited is a
non-profit organization.

This creation was developed and handpainted by
Michael Meissner,
and the permanent stand was developed from local wood sources
by craftsman Carl Keller. Carl is an active Gallery
member from Glendive.
