Sponsored by the Custer County Art & Heritage Center, Miles City       The 2011 Traveling Collection features 22 representative works of the "32nd Annual Southeastern Montana juried exhibit", shown earlier this year at the Custer County Art & Heritage Center in Miles City, Montana. This all-media exhibit represents professional and amateur artworks from across Montana and adjoining states. Entries are original and were completed within the last two years. Works completed under supervision or instruction were not eligible.      From 138 entries, juror John Pollock of Billings, Montana selected 77 artworks for exhibit and chose award winners. Cash prizes totaled $ 1000.00 for first, second and third place winners in addition to several "Honorable Mention" awards. The 2011 Travelling Collections will tour communities throughout eastern Montana until the end of the year, with stops in Broadus, Baker, Colstrip, Ekelaka, Forsyth, Glasgow, Glendive, Hardin, Jordan and Sidney.       John Pollock has taught Art at Montana State University- Billings for over 35 years. He has received numerous awards and honors for his own work, including the Western Arts Foundation printmaking fellowship. A world-renowned kite designer, Pollock has received three National Grand Champion trophies and the prestigious Lee Toy Memorial Kite Artist of the Year award. He is a member of the Northwest Print Council, the Montana Watercolor Society, and the American Kitefliers Association.
